Landfill Risers
A typical landfill uses leachate collection systems to protect the water and the environment from landfill contaminants. These systems use a series of high-density polyethylene riser shafts, which must have additional pipe continuously added to the riser as the landfill soil cover increases in height. The characteristics of HDPE pipe and components allow these systems to be continuously modified as the landfill progresses..

Floats and Pontoons
Floats and pontoons have many applications where objects (such as pipelines) must be suspended at or near the waterline. The high buoyancy factor and low material weight make these HDPE pontoons a low cost, practical solution for any pontoon project. HDPE, Inc. engineers can provide the design and fabrication based on your project’s requirements.

Mining Fittings
HDPE pipe and fittings are no stranger to the mining industry, due to HDPE pipe’s exceptional wear resistance in mining slurry applications. However, standard HDPE fittings do not fare as well in impact abrasions, especially in elbows. As the fitting wall wears, the effective stress on the fitting rises until it overpowers the strength of the fitting, and the fitting wall bursts.
New classes of fittings that use MASSIVE reinforcement at critical stress-concentration zones are typically used in these applications because they outlast standard HDPE fabricated and molded fittings.

Outfall Diffuser
Ocean and river outfall pipelines require a series of high-density polyethylene diffusers to dispense and distribute the effluent into the current so biological activity can consume the degradable debris. These complex, large diameter HDPE pipe fabrications must be engineered for constant pressure drop, constant velocity, self-cleaning velocity, and minimum velocity among other parameters. HDPE, Inc. engineers can provide the design and fabrication based on your project’s requirements.

Case Study: Floating Dock
Objective
The owner of a Florida marina was looking for a solution to replace worn and unstable docks. The contractor for the job was experienced only with traditional dock system materials and components. When HDPE was proposed as a solution, the contractor turned to the supplier and fabricator of choice, HDPE, Inc.
Solution
HDPE, Inc.’s experience in working with large HDPE projects was a natural advantage for this project. Having built and fabricated dock systems of various sizes, this project proved to be right in the strike zone for HDPE, Inc. The solution was to fabricate the pontoon sections and connecting structure pre-assembled to the jobsite. The contractor would then complete the finishing with decorative materials and electrical wiring as specified.
Result
HDPE pontoon structures offer this marina a dock system that provided superior rigidity and longer lifespan over traditional dock materials. In addition, the HDPE solution offered an ease of install with less labor required at the jobsite. For the marina owner, the stability of the dock system was immediately noticed-and appreciated.
